Traffic Improvement

April 30, 2019

Winning Project in PA Consulting's Raspberry Pi Competition.

The Traffic Improvement project is a software solution aimed at reducing waiting times at traffic lights. It uses a Raspberry Pi to control traffic lights and a web interface for engineers to adjust traffic system variables. The software simulates traffic conditions, considering factors like human reaction time, distraction chance, weather effects, and traffic probability, to calculate the most efficient traffic light timings.

The project could have continuous development, with future improvements including number plate recognition technology, GPS modules for accurate distance calculation between lights, and automatic updates of traffic light timings.
